Programs
Shake, Rattle & Roll
"Shake, Rattle & Roll" is a hands-on music program for children of all ages (including infants) and their families. The 90-minute sessions include a story-time, a science of sound activity, a map activity, and hands-on music lessons using authentic, world percussion instruments. Families are provided with training and NYS education standards-based curriculum guides to extend the fun, music-making experience to other academic subject areas using public library books. By the end of the program, the children create their own durable instruments and compose rhythm patterns. Click here for more!
Eight Million Stories
“Eight Million Stories” helps children and their families explore the process of storytelling through filmmaking and global storytelling forms. As part of the performance, props, stage set, and filming crews, children and their families experience how literary elements fuse to form a vivid story. Then, the children and their families construct and film an original tale. Curriculum training workshops and activity guides show families how to make connections to the New York State English Language Arts Standards using public library books. At the conclusion, extended family and friends attend a grand film festival. Click here for more!
Safe Play Olympics
“Safe Play Olympics” involves parents in coaching their children to practice good sportsmanship. As the children and parents enjoy playing a variety of sports, PAPT facilitators guide them in exploring the science, math, and social studies concepts associated with the games. Literacy standards are also addressed as families read for information about the sports and academic concepts, following the NYS education standards-based curriculum guides provided by PAPT. I, too, am America
“I, too, am America” examines our roles as significant contributors and responsible citizens of the global community. Living History Trips within the United States and abroad help participants contextually understand the development of nations: their varying dynamics and their common patterns, while language and cultural immersion preparation promotes openness and humility. Service projects in local, national, and international communities nurture collective responsibility and pride. Click here for more!
Home Base Business Builders
“Home Base Business Builders” incorporates the project-based teaching and learning approach to guide families that wish to introduce their children to the basics of entrepreneurship by either including the children in the parents’ home-based businesses or guiding the children in their self-determined endeavor. PAPT will assist them in developing personalized, standards-based curricula for the process. Click here for more!
